We operate open visiting across the Trust.
The Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) provides rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients who have been referred with an acute medical problem(s).
We also provide same day emergency care (SDEC) between the hours of 8am to 8pm.
Patients need to be referred by another clinical service to be seen in the department.
Referrals
Patients need to have been referred by another clinical service to be seen in MAU.
Once checked in at reception, you will receive an assessment by our medical triage team, which includes checking your vitals, ECG and blood tests.
Following this, you will be assessed by a medical clinician who will decide whether you will need admitting to hospital or if you are safe to be discharged.
